How to restore an iPhone from iCloud and any other ways

Restoring an iPhone is a simple process. Users usually prefer the process that involves using the iCloud account to retrieve the phone’s data from a backup. However, there are other ways as well, depending on oneself’s specific needs.

Restoring from iCloud

  • Backup your iPhone

Before you begin the restore process, make sure that you have a backup of your iPhone data saved on iCloud. You can check this by going to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup. If the toggle switch next to iCloud Backup is on, then your phone is set up to automatically backup to iCloud. If not, you can manually backup your iPhone by tapping “Back Up Now”.

  • Reset your iPhone

To restore your iPhone from iCloud, you need to erase all content and settings from your device. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. Enter your passcode if prompted and then tap “Erase iPhone”.

  • Sign in to iCloud

After your iPhone has been erased, you will be prompted to set it up as a new device or restore from a backup. Choose “Restore from iCloud Backup” and sign in to your iCloud account.

  • Choose backup

Your iPhone will show you a list of available backups. Choose the most recent one that contains the data you want to restore and tap “Restore”.

  • Wait for restore to complete

The restore process may take some time depending on the size of the backup and your internet connection speed. Your iPhone will restart once the restore is complete, and you can then set it up as new or sign in with your Apple ID.

Other ways to restore an iPhone:

  • Restore from iTunes

You can also restore your iPhone using iTunes on your computer. Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. Click on the device icon and select “Restore iPhone”. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the restore process. iTunes will download the latest version of iOS and restore your iPhone to its factory settings. When the process is complete, you’ll be taken through the setup process. Choose “Restore from iTunes Backup” when prompted, and select the backup you want to restore from.

  • Restore from a third-party backup service

There are several third-party backup services that allow you to backup and restore your iPhone data, such as iMazing, Dr. Fone, and PhoneRescue. These services can be useful if you don’t have access to iCloud or iTunes. Connect your iPhone to your computer using a USB cable. Launch the software and follow the on-screen instructions to put your iPhone into DFU mode. the software will scan your iPhone and present you with a list of recoverable data. Select the data you want to recover and click “Recover.”

Note: It’s important to note that third-party software programs may not be as reliable as the built-in methods provided by Apple. Use them at your own risk.
