These places are often in the middle of busy towns. With so much movement, the service of having one small distraction is minimal and might even be dangerous, so it’s better to drive with your vision focused all the time. The girl 3D printed a component attached to the projector to make the image clearer. She then lined the car’s pillar with retroreflective fabric that reflects the image only to the driver.

Her brother had just started driving and realised that this is a huge safety issue so she wanted to get rid of them.

The next step will be to switch to LCD displays which will give a better picture in high light conditions.

Korean car manufacturer Hyundai and Japanese automaker Kia filing similar patents all seem to use AI technology for haptic feedback systems. Along with these there are patents from Jaguar and Land Rover however none of these have been incorporated into the cars. This could mean that there is some attempt to perfect the system.
