Many people have started looking forward to the release of Android 11, but Google is already working on the next version of AI-based Android 12. Rumors on what new features we may see in Android 13 point to a possible release date. Here’s everything you need to know in regards to these leaked features, as well as the probable release time frame.
Consumers’ expectations
Below you’ll find a wishlist of the main things we want from Android 12. And be sure to check back often, as we’ll be updating our site every time something new is revealed about the upcoming software.
- It’s possible we may finally get our first look at Android 12 very soon. Google often throws these developer videos out in the first few months of the year, so it looks like 2019 will see one too!
- We should see Google IO this May, when it will have a public beta release. With the increasing number of new features that seem to be planned for this upcoming release, we’re really excited to see how things go!
- As for the final final version of Android 12, a recent Google Pixel 5 announcement has stated that the phone will release on September 30, which is expected to be two weeks after the initial announcement. This is a good indication of what to expect.
To put it simply, your phone is unlikely to get Android 12 by 2022. Some phones will be upgraded sooner than others. You may want to consider waiting until your device manufacturer releases it to all of the current phones they sell. So far, we know little about Android 12, but there’s one thing we know for sure: Google is excited about it. Android 12 will make it easier to interact with other apps while maintaining security, which they mention in their blog post.
Google’s report
Google hasn’t provided specifics on how the integration will work. It could involve permanent & temporary tagging, or making the process more visible.
If Google makes it a mainline, it should provide an easier update process for the company. There is also a possibility of Android Runtimes’ upgrade in 12. This would allow the company to provide more OS updates, available through Google Play. This additionally helps reduce IT costs and can increase loyalty among customers.
This will mean more frequent device updates, which means your consumers also won’t have to wait for their providers to release the devices. This is usually done on a schedule, so you won’t have to worry about data from one device being useless after it’s updated.
Android 11 wishlist
Well, Android 11 is in really good shape and we’ve made a lot of improvements, but every system has some room for improvement. We’re hoping to get to some things on our wish list like:
Android doesn’t have any real visual overhauls ever. It has a few pieces of software updated the past few years, which is all that was needed to keep things up-to-date. Now it’s just a chance for Google to try something new, and you can make an argument for why adopting this new design is unnecessary. Android is more than a simple operating system. The next version of Android will be refreshing and exciting with some new design language on it.
Apple added a lot of great new things in iOS 14, including widgets and other important Android features. We couldn’t help but notice was that there was no mention of what happened to Google’s update (that would be natural).
Smart stack lets you organize different screens of photos and videos on the side with a quick swipe so they’re easy to access, or the OS can choose which one to show you based on how you use your phone.
For example, if you always check the weather in the morning, then it might show a forecast at the top of your cards before you change it to something else later in the day. Here are a few neat ways to reduce clutter and make sure you keep track of the widgets you want.
All of the new features added and bugs fixed in each month’s update might not be available for some older phones. That’s not necessarily a break-your-bank issue though. Only 2 years of updates are provided by most companies and some receive less than that.
Android 12 release
With Android 12 release, Google is pushing developers to make their devices last longer and have updates more quickly. They hope this will reassure users that they are doing the best they can for the devices they use. It’s quite likely that future smartphones will rely on Google for their operating systems. What’s unclear is whether manufacturers need to notify the company on the updates. They implement updates to their phones for release as soon as possible.
With huge updates once a year, sometimes there aren’t many updates. One change we’d like to see is a repeat of features appearing on Android again by the time there’s an annual update.
We already have new updates throughout the year that fix known bugs and add support for more security. In this probable upcoming update, new features could become part of the game.
Not everyone has a phone that runs with the newest Android version. Some don’t have all of the features that came along with this upgrade. This doesn’t always mean there is a major issue. There are two reasons for this: 1) newer phones are more expensive. 2) some phone-makers don’t create updates in time for their release date so older. “Firstly, Google often excludes certain features to make them exclusive to the Pixel series. Android 11 offers app suggestions and a way to avoid the chaos of apps on your home screen. You can even edit which apps show up in this section of the main screen.
Google has developed many of the most popular features in their OS. They don’t require, though, developers to take a stance on every feature. This allows them to make decisions based solely on what they think is best for the end user. However, some features like “conversations” are still not available on all phones because it’s not a universal requirement. It’s a handy feature that keeps chat notifications separate from all your other notifications. Many of the changes and additions to Android 11 were incredibly interesting. Ultimately, though, manufacturers didn’t have to offer them on their phones.
