New 4K gaming monitor
Today, the gaming monitor manufacturer AOC announced a new product in their line. The AOC G2868PQU is a 28″ (71.1 cm) 4K monitor that will deliver amazing Ultra HD (3840×2160 pixel) resolution. To meet the demands of gamers looking for sharp, vivid images and intense gaming, the monitor features a next-generation HDR-ready TN panel with a 1ms response time. The G2868PQU also comes with AMD FreeSync which eliminates the need for an expensive monitor that is usually required to eliminate image tearing. All of these features ensure a fluid & responsive 4K gaming experience. The monitor is available in Europe from March 2019.
Sharp and vivid gaming graphics
The G2868PQU is constructed with a slim & red/black design making it perfect for gaming. Not only does it include an ergonomic height-adjustable standing desk, but also an enhanced bezel on its screen to eliminate any annoying glare. This monitor is not only 4x the detail of 1080p, but also has extra sRGB and AdobeRGB coverage. This means that not only will you be able to see 4x more detail than on a 1080p display, but your graphics will look even better and more vibrant. The image on the G2868PQU display is extremely sharp – with a 157.35 ppi density, in case you’re wondering. AMD GPUs might also help you achieve less latency and an even greater refresh rate, up to a whopping 60Hz.
Adjustable to the environment
This monitor is modern and minimalistic, yet offers a wide range of customisation. The stand is adjustable, ensuring the best viewing angle every time. This monitor can do well in really bright environments, even at 300 nits. And if your environment is a little dark, or you’re using this at night, you can use Low Blue Mode to prevent eye fatigue.
Improved gaming focus
Just like the AGON series, the G2868PQU is also equipped with the following gaming features in the on-screen menu:
-
With AOC’s Game Color feature, users can adjust the color saturation, either increasing the saturation when the image content is dull or decreasing it for better gray levels.
-
With AOC’s Shadow Control feature, users can select shade levels to brighten dark areas and vice versa to better see details in dark or very bright/washed out areas without affecting the entire image.
-
With AOC Game Modes, specific settings for different types of games (FPS, Racing, RTS), and an additional three user customizable modes.
-
With AOC Dial Point mode, where users can place a targeting pointer in FPS games that do not have an already built-in crosshair, so that they can aim accurately.
AOC’s G2868PQU monitor will be available from March 2019 with an indicative retail price of €369.
