AR glasses replacing iPhones
The report from The Information is that Apple will be releasing an augmented reality headset and AR glasses in 2022 and 2023 respectively. Rumors of these “Apple Glasses” were talking about a 2020 release, however this new report lengthens the timeline. All we know about these products is that they will be designed with gaming, video and virtual encounters in mind. The will feature 3D sensors and more advanced FaceID technology according to a recent Bloomberg report. Apple’s AR lenses also detect when the user is focused on another person. They can also warn their friends that they’re in a different location.
The report predicts that by 2030, you will not have a phone of your own. Augmented reality glasses will be replacing smartphones and screens as the main device you use on a regular basis. The iPhone, which is currently your main device, will be of use as an amusement piece or in special cases.
Maybe it’s hard to imagine a world without devices like smartphones. With augmented reality glasses, that could be possible.
