The Riemann Hypothesis solved

89-year-old British mathematician Michael Atilla has just announced he has found a solution for the so-called “Riemann Hypothesis”. This number theory problem has remained unresolved since it was first presented by German mathematician Georg Bernhard Riemann in 1859.

The unsolved Riemann Hypothesis is one of the most important problems in theoretical math. Its solution could potentially have a global effect.

Atilla was a speaker at the Heidelberg Forum in Germany, which brings together the best minds of mathematics from around the world. He presented what he described as a “simple proof” based on a “tool” from the field of physics..

Several scientists expressed doubt, considering Atiya’s several mistakes in recent years.

“What he showed in his presentation is very unlikely to constitute any evidence of the Riemann Hypothesis as we know it. It was simply very vague and unspecific,” said mathematical economist Jorgen Weissdal of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

It’s no surprise that Atiya, one of Britain’s leading mathematicians, has won key prizes in geometry and topology as well as theoretical physics. He was the president of London Mathematical Society, Royal Society of Science of Great Britain and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

In recent years, he has also made blunders. He may not have convinced other mathematicians with his claims. They find his evidence on the Riemann Affair to be unreliable.

However, Atilla himself does not seem to be discouraged. “I throw myself to the lions and hope to come out unscathed,” he wrote in an email.

“People will complain and grumble, but that’s because they resist the idea that an old man can come up with an entirely new method,” he said.
