Square Off | Robotic chess
AI games have a long history and many people want the game to evolve, but this doesn’t mean it has to stop getting changes.
With Square Off, you place your pieces on their own and the computer or other players take control. Recently, the game introduced two new implementations. One is Neo and the other is Swap, which differ in the size and construction materials. Regardless, we are dealing with chessboards that fit into all spaces and can offer intense chess thrills.
In this modern day,computers are increasingly taking care of tasks that would have been done by humans in the past. Robots now perform tasks like moving pieces around a chessboard & even changing the colors of your clothes! It may seem strange to others that we can have a physical representation of the movements of an object in a virtual reality. However, motion capture technology allows for the creation of complex and stylized animations.
Sometimes old has to give way to new to make room for growth & improvement. You shouldn’t see this as stagnation, but rather an opportunity for new things and collaboration.
AI capabilities
These robots are typically able to move any metal pieces instantly on a chessboard. This can be useful for housekeeping or even individual games – like the “game of go.” The Harry Potter movies have raised the idea of chess to a higher level and many people who don’t typically play the game are willing to give it a try.
The AI offers levels of difficulty for people of different skill levels and can adapt to your abilities. The game is also now on 30 levels, so whether you’re playing or watching, it won’t get boring! Additionally, there is a built-in assistant named Viktor, who can offer chess lessons and interesting spam quizzes for those who want to get a little more involved with chess.
The new models are considerably faster than the model that first debuted in 2016, and you can now battle with your friends remotely via video chat. There’s currently a Kickstarter campaign to help get the games produced. A robot chessboard has already been successfully developed and is going to be on the market this fall. It’ll start at $120 and will allow you to easily engage in completely new games that may have not existed before.
