Google collected millions of medical data

In 2019, more products are available that not only provide you with the health and lifestyle you need but also improve your life in other ways. These companies, such as Apple and Amazon, are interested in moving into the medical field. Google is one of the few companies who has collected this data without consent, withholding various pieces of information that belong to millions of American citizens in 21 different states.

Project Nightingale is a tactic used by Google, in partnership with Ascension Healthcare, which appears to have gained a lot of traction in the recent months. Ever since then, Google has been gathering a lot of different data such as name, date of birth, test results, doctor’s diagnosis and other medical records that could create a patient’s profile.

Google has supposedly updated its search engine with which Ascension patients can find information. They say that patients didn’t receive notification on the collection of data. Apparently they calculated them as “mere consumers.”

Google and Ascension have partnered to help improve the way their healthcare system works. Employees are now able to receive medical consultations over the phone from Ascension’s medical professionals. G Suite is a well-known system for managing business and IT infrastructure. It quickly integrates with popular cloud systems like Google Drive and Gmail, which makes it perfect for this use case. Health professionals can use these tools to make their jobs more efficient.
