Coronavirus and misinformation
Until now, Twitter has not allowed access to the full stream of tweets on a topic. There is a privacy issue that can’t be disregarded when it comes to how you may use the information. You may realize what this means for your company.
For the next few weeks, Twitter will be granting access to a large number of its subscribers who are involved in the science world. This would allow them to see the content posted on Twitter related to Covid-19 disease up front. This information can then be used as a basis for drawing conclusions about the spread of it.
As Twitter announced, it will be opening up its live streaming service so that authorized officials of public crisis management and civil protection agencies, as well as researchers of artificial intelligence and related tools that help the scientific community, can also access it.
European Commissioner Vera Yurova, according to Reuters, called Twitter’s initiative “a good step in the right direction. Our cooperation and regular contacts with online platforms to fight misinformation are starting to bear fruit.”
Never before had Twitter allowed for a full view of what the dialogue was on a topic. The thoughtful consideration of the data & how it is collected will be given to these users and then they’ll be given access to the information. They’ll even have to inform their users as well so that they know that everything is safe and secure. This period the matter of Coronavirus and personal data has been making headlines. What is your opinion on the matter?
