41.5% of people aged 16-74 have ever purchased something over the internet, either for personal use or otherwise. This number includes those who have ever made an online purchase. Additionally, includes those who have ordered goods or services over the internet for personal use in the first quarter of this year.

Consumers are increasingly making purchases online, but at a much more rapid rate over the last decade. This is great news for companies who can use it to their advantage.

The ELSTAT surveyed the use of information and communication technologies by households and individuals. This survey reveals, among other things, the following:

86% of consumers choose to shop online from domestic enterprises and 86% also chose to shop from outside the EU. As for those who don’t know, 16% of consumers said they did not know. These first five categories of spending can be broken down by the five broad groups in your expenditure. Starting with buying clothing and footwear, sports equipment, accommodations, electronics, and food/drink.

Low amounts

In Q1 2019, almost half of people who ordered products/services online paid up to €99 for the product or service. 2018 trend vs. 2019 trend: a decrease of 30.1% was recorded for those who paid less than €50 and an increase of 2% was recorded for those who paid higher amounts from e-markets.

Banking transactions (bank account information, transfers, bill payments, etc.) carried out online is an activity carried out by 40.3% of those who use the internet, which recorded an increase of 6.6% compared to Q1 2018 (37.8%)

Around 2 in 10 people aged 16-74 who used the internet between April 2018 and March 2019 experienced some form of security issue.

Compared to the period April 2014-March 2015, safety concerns are far less among people who used AI writers in decision making. Complimenting the other data from this research, this is a statistically significant reduction in problems (2015: 25.9%; 2019: 16.8%). Security issues on the Internet are something people need to be aware of since they can pose a threat to both your computer and personal information. You can avoid these attacks by being careful, avoiding clicking any links or downloading from unknown sources.
