The World of Technology News and Products

Computex Taipei

At this year’s edition of Computex Taipei, there will be new and exciting products for many people to enjoy. These products are the true embodiment of what technology has to offer now.

Here’s what we should keep from the technology of the future that arrived and is already a part of today’s tech products.

Feminine cores

Intel unveiled its 50th anniversary gazzelle with the Core i7-8086K Anniversary Edition 8th generation, known for breaking 5GHz barrier, but also a beastly 28-core processor. “The PC industry is constantly improving, which is great, and a significant part of that is due to the innovation we bring with our PC partners,” said Intel’s vice president and general manager, PC division, Gregory Bryant.

Despite the intricate range of products that Intel had to show off, the new 28-Core processor stole the show. Bryant said he showed the product prematurely. The processor runs at 5 GHz

Bryant promised at Computex Taipei that his company will release the product in Q4 of 2018, and didn’t provide any more information about it.

AMD has announced the they are releasing their own monster CPU, the Threadripper 2 with 32 cores! This will add to an already burning fire of competition between AMD and Intel that is heating up every day. Cooler Master partnered with AMD to help bring the Wraith Ripper to life, a beastly processor cooler capable of taming 32-core temperatures.

Dual-screen laptops

Laptops with dual screens by Asus and Lenovo were some of the most loved on display.

Lenovo is also gearing up for a 2nd generation of their YogaBook, while Asus continues to experiment with their Project Precog.

Asus has presented a step further, a “PC based on artificial intelligence”, wearing the Intel Movidius chip to understand faster and better the conditions of use.

A smartphone dedicated to gaming

Asus ROG phone offers a lot of technical features you may not have expected. With a huge 512GB storage space and an AMOLED screen, they outperform most other phones. And with its response time of 1ms, these phones bring even more clarity to your gameplay. It easily turns into a controller and there are a bunch of gaming options.

It’s a high-end phone with gaming components that comes with four accessories: a dual-screen dock, PC dock, Nintendo Switch style controller dock & a cooling solution. These give you console status.

It is equipped with a Snapdragon 845, 8 GB of RAM and 4,000 mAh battery that provide a quick and powerful enough performance. On the other hand, the X Mode can automatically shut down any apps running on the edges of your device. There isn’t a release date or price that is currently known.

Power saving technologies in displays

Intel is working with monitor manufacturers Innolux and Sharp to design the so-called Low Power Display, a technology that lowers the energy needs of the monitor to 1 Watt! And without sacrificing any brightness at all, laptops can run in 8 more hours.
