
Changes on Facebook
Many users have express dissatisfaction with the choices made by Facebook regarding censorship and what is allowed on their platform. “Facebook now takes free expression and encryption very seriously,” Facebook’s CEO said.
“That’s the new approach and I think it’s going to piss a lot of people off with these changes on Facebook. But, frankly, the old approach also pissed off a lot of people, so let’s try something different,” he commented.
“We’ve tried for a long time to avoid doing anything that would considered ‘overly offensive’.” Obviously, he has changed his approach as of recently, in light of what he perceives as excessive censorship.
“More and more often we’re being asked to censor lots of different kinds of content, which makes us really uncomfortable,” Zuckerberg said, although he acknowledged Facebook’s responsibility to eradicate from the platform any content related to terrorism, child exploitation and incitement to violence.
