Google and Apple’s COVID-19 contact tracking technology is ready | New Google Apple collaboration
Companies like Google and Apple want to take it a step further in keeping COVID-19 survivors informed. Their combined platform will work on both ecosystems and send notifications to those who have been contacted by the COVID-19 case. Now the technology is ready, called Exposure Notifications, and will be available with the new upgrade of both operating systems.
The app helps companies need to track the contacts of their current or past employees. It’s easy for them to carry out this task since the government made an API, which runs smoothly. The benefits of AI technology becoming more mainstream can be seen here. Because it’s on both iOS and Android (which are more popular hardware), more people will be able to enjoy this technology, which is voluntary. Users will have to give their consent to outline how their information is shared with third parties if they get sick. Even then, the anonymity of individual users remain.
