Many cities have toll roads that can be confusing to follow. So, Google is heavily improving its Maps app to give you the most up-to-date info on your routes. They are also adding other features like toll information and alternative routes!
In particular, it has announced that it is preparing several updates for its well-known maps application, Google Maps, including adding the ability to see how much the tolls you will have to pay before you start a journey. Drivers, for example, will be able to choose alternative routes to avoid tolls altogether.
In some cities, the following road information will also be displayed: shape, width, lanes, and even odometer readings to make it easier for drivers to understand where they are. The development of a world like one portrayed in autonomous vehicles is only a matter of when. With the help of this technology, drivers will be able to see where there are traffic lights and stop signs on their route up ahead.
In the coming months, searches in Spotlight will now include maps. Siri will integrate Google Maps and the iOS Shortcuts app will add Google Maps quickly as well. While there is not yet a setting in Siri to retrieve information from the mapping app, there will be soon. Expect this feature to be released at some point in the coming months with many features improved.
