New update for Google Maps’ updates
Google Maps are updating its software to show you how much battery life you have left when you make the decision to share your location with a friend. It was tested on a limited number of users but now it’s being seen by a wider group.
The update may seem small, but Google is sure that it will make the service safer for people when they are in unfamiliar or unsafe areas. In order to see your battery level, enable location sharing from the settings menu in Google Maps. These were the primary more recent Google Maps’ updates.
Many are the updates for the year. One major update is the addition of a new “For You” tab, which provides personalized recommendations for nearby places to eat, drink, and shop. The tab uses machine learning algorithms to make recommendations based on a user’s search history, ratings, and other factors.
Another update was the introduction of a new “Group Planning” feature, which makes it easier for users to plan trips and events with friends and family.
Google also made updates to its turn-by-turn navigation system, adding new features such as lane guidance and real-time traffic updates.
Google Maps also introduced a new “Augmented Reality” (AR) feature, which uses a smartphone’s camera to overlay directions and place names on the user’s view of the real world.
In addition to these new features, Google Maps also received a number of updates to its existing features, such as the ability to view indoor maps of certain buildings, and an improved “Street View” mode, which now includes 3D imagery.
