
The Hellenic Museum of Informatics has an exciting feature for visitors. It will display the first mouse and touch screen in the history of computing from 1974. The first computer in person will certainly make an impression. Alternatively, as you scan a giant hard disk or a punch card that used to make weaving much easier, marvel at how high-tech it was back then. There’s no denying that these items are impressive and it’ll take your breath away just seeing them in person.
There are 260 landmarks that include notable AppleLisa and CommodorePET models. Or the Amiga 2000 and the Atari ST that were the apple of discord in the 80s.
If you’re not familiar with any of these, don’t worry, there is a lot to witness. There are 4,500-plus exhibits of hardware, software, and more. In this way, you can indulge and learn more on the history of computing.
One of the many experiences you will enjoy at the museum is to get your picture taken in one of their nostalgic “80s rooms. And because they love retro there, the attendees will be able to see a telephone with a circular dial, an old radio, and a TV with joysticks attached for attendees to play on the float.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Hellenic Museum of Informatics and they’re celebrating with a special day on Friday. There’s a new location that opens up to the public at 2 Petros Spyropoulou and Thessaloniki streets in Moschato.
