In this case, a factory reset will be a one way street that you’ll have no choice but to take.
How do we factory reset an Android smartphone?
Sometimes your device just isn’t working the way it should. If rebooting it doesn’t fix the issue, then its probably time for a factory reset. This process can often be referred to as “formatting” or a “hard reboot.” If you find yourself in this situation, the easiest way to do this is through Settings on your device. At this point let’s look at the process.
How do we Factory Reset your Android smartphone from the Settings menu?
You should definitely make a back-up of your files before deleting from your device. They will be deleted & erased from the device including personal photos.
In the settings menu, find the Backup & reset section and press on Factory data reset and Reset phone.

You will be prompted to enter your pass code and then delete everything.

Once done, choose to reboot your device.

Now, you can restore your device data.
How do we Factory reset Android smartphone in Recovery Mode?
If you’re experiencing issues with your LG device and can’t access Settings, you can use Recovery Mode. Backup data before performing this process to ensure your files are unaffected.
Turn off the device.

Hold down the volume down button and while doing so, hold the Power button until the device turns on.

Then you will see the word start, press volume down until it goes into recovery mode.

Now press the power button to start the recovery mode. You should see the android robot.

Once you are in recovery mode, hold down the power button and while doing so, press volume up once and then release the power button.

Press Volume down until it goes to the wipe data /factory reset option, then press the Power button to select it.

Then press the Power button to reboot the system.

You can now restore the device data.
