Before you buy – Wireless Chargers
Wireless chargers have been on the market for almost a decade, but still aren’t mainstream. First thing to consider is the charging strength of the charging dock. More simple ones offer 5W charging power, but other ones can reach up to 15W as well. Secondly, consumers must know that there are two types of docking stations, the pads and stands. Naturally, pads are more suitable for nightstands, while stands are perfect for office, for continuous workflow.
Furthermore, we should note that not all chargers work with every phone and other device cosumers might have. Wireless charging doesn’t offer just one profile that outputs at different strengths depending on the phone. There are about a half-dozen profiles out there to keep in mind. There are different docks with different features and strengths from different tech brands. Manufactureurs included are Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, Realme, LG etc.
Sometimes, phone cases are just not compatible. In these scenarios, these cases should be removed for proper charging. If you have wireless earbuds that have a charging case, you can place them in the case onto your wireless charger too.
While different wireless chargers might use different standards, it’s best to just stick to Qi. A higher wattage charger will heat the device up and quickly drain the battery so make sure you check your charger before buying.
