Intel 28-core CPU at 5GHz

Intel is developing a 28-core CPU that will be commercialized in 2018, but no specific date was revealed.

The new unnamed processor unveiled by the SVP of the well-known chipmaker, Gregory Bryant, is expected to change the face of computing. Though its power and architecture are not known. A single-socket processor with 28 cores clocked at 5GHz as Intel Corporation has confirmed. This processor is intended for simple computers and provides great performance with a Cinebench score of 7,334.

Intel has promised to crush the AMD’s 16-core Threadrippe, both in the capacity and performance categories. The Core i9 Extreme is priced at $1,999, so the unnamed 28-core processor could retail for an unbelievable price, thus a limited consumer group will be able to afford it.

At this point, without knowing the exact specifications of the upcoming processor unit, the price tag will probably be very hefty, even a bit unreasonable. In this constant competition among technology companies evolve rampant innovative technologies that they embrace. At what cost though? What do you think?
