Microsoft’s “Your Phone” app
The People app in Windows 10 lets you share texts, photos, notifications, and documents between your Android and Windows devices. It also allows you to sync messages across devices by using Microsoft’s Outlook email service.
The app was originally only available to Windows Insiders, but now it will be available to everyone! This is a sign of the great updates that are on the way for this app. To access the app’s features, you need to download it on your computer as well as your phone. Windows 10 (versions 7.x) and Android OS versions 7.0 or higher are supported.
Your phone’s photos will be ‘put away’ automatically in your mobile app and then you can transfer them to your computer with a simple drag and drop. If you’re around a computer with a screen, then you can easily view SMS text messages and reply to them as well. Soon, as with MMS, it’ll be possible to send photos, too.
Many of your notifications also appear on your computer. For now there isn’t a way to respond to them, although Windows Insiders have the ability to manage notifications or even reply. If the app is not available in the Windows Store yet, it will be somewhat soon. Microsoft assures us that it’ll be finished uploading to the store by this week. Keep an eye out for details about when it’ll fully come out!
