Millions of users exposed online | Facebook data leak

It sounds like a lot of people’s private information was leaked online and that is very unfortunate. The Facebook data leak has caused a lot of concerns and uproar among users, who feel they may be exposed. “We are looking into the matter of users exposed online. We believe, though, that this is information that was obtained before changes were made in recent years to better protect people’s information,” a Facebook spokesperson commented.

It was observed by researchers on Comparitech that the same database they reviewed a week before was posted a second time on December 14. They also reported it to the server’s provider right away.

This isn’t the first time this year that user data has been exposed by the company. Just in September 419 million records were leaked. Errors by partner companies exposed 540 million user records in the year.
