Motorola was founded in 1928 by Paul and Joseph Galvin from the Galvin Manufacturing Corporation. They had one product and five employees.
Today, Motorola is celebrating 90 years of Motorola and there’s a very good reason for that. The company has drastically changed the face of the technology industry.
Its first product addressed the need for longer battery life. That problem still exists today, but they continue to come up with new solutions to go with each advancement. It was the Galvin Manufacturing battery eliminator who first used household power to electrify radios, and its latest invention, the 5G moto mod, provides a solution for today’s need for speed. Motorola has always been a firm believer in listening to its customers to meet their needs.
From building the first portable two-way FM radio in 1943 and communicating the earth with the first lunar landing, to the RAZR V3 or the moto mod technology that enabled your phone to become a boombox, a photo printer, a gamepad or a 360 camera, Motorola has had quite an impressive and accomplished history.
Motorola has a long history of dedicated leadership, starting back with founder Paul Galvin who ran the company for 28 years to the current CEO, Sergio Buniac.
