Laptop with mini LED display
Laptop manufacturers have always been reluctant to move to OLED screens because they’re bigger and more expensive than phones, among other reasons. Apple has revealed they’ll be using mini LED technology in 2020 for their MacBooks. It seems like the MSI Creator 17 might be the first to make the transition with its own MINI LED display, considering it is touted as being “the world’s first laptop” by MSI.
This laptop features a 17-inch display with 4K resolution for a sharp, detailed view. Little LEDs give it a “4K” trait because they light up one pixel at a time. This technology will let the display shut off a backlight at some point, which can create deeper blacks and concentrated whites. Make sure to focus on this if you want a laptop with good contrast. MiniLEDs make it possible to reduce the size of LED screens. This new technology is coming to high-end TVs soon but we should expect more in the future.
The MSI Creative 17 comes with Intel Core-i7 10875H, 16/32GB of RAM, up to 2TB of NVMe storage and options for graphics between NVIDIA RTX 2060 or RTX 2080 Super Max-Q. Starting at โฌ1,799.
