No more Netflix
Unfortunately, because of issues during normal maintenance, it will no longer work on some Samsung TVs.
Netflix has been working on improving its device support. It’s just a matter of time before the devices lose the compatibility. The bad news is that the US and Canada are part of that list.
Portions of the announcement that came out from Samsung state that they will be offering an upgrade to their older models. Some owners of their older models may experience an issue where the name on their smart TV is spelled incorrectly: “due to some technical issues, it will not be supported by some devices as of December 1st, 2019. Some older Samsung smart TV models will be affected by this change.”
Unfortunately, there isn’t a clear description of the impact. Owners of Samsung smart TVs will be able to watch Netflix on their TV through their game console, media player, laptop or other peripherals starting December 1st.
Maybe it’s an indication of Samsung support on Netflix app. In a statement Samsung Electronics said:
“Samsung has recently received important information. As of December 1st, 2019 the Netflix app will no longer be supported on select 2010 and 2011 Smart TV models sold in Canada and the United States.
Owners of these specific models will be notified when they open Netflix on their TV. They’ll also be able to access the app through many other devices that support Netflix, including your laptop and tablet.
