Breach of connection data

Black Friday is after November, so it’s time to start planning your holiday shopping.

The Kaspersky data showed that download activity is now way more popular than buying. Ruslan Stanchyk, senior response manager, stated the following. ‘We are living in an era where you can buy anything at once. You shop online, you buy online,’ he wrote on the Kaspersky Lab blog. This indicates a lack of awareness on many IT professionals’ part. Nearly half of the respondents (46%) are unaware that there is a threat to their login details. This figure is understandably stunning, even for those people who have worked with computers for multiple years.

For online shoppers, we offer the highest level of security through real-time protection. Some people might feel a bit squeamish about thinking that their very financial information may be in the wrong hands. There is, though, another troubling possibility. Data could be used to actually churn out fraudulent goods, sell fake goods or even make people dance in order to report credit card fraud. Apart from data inflating the scale of financial crime, data can also be harvested and used for organised black-marketing — just think about all that virtual goods on Steam now — or sold by terrorists or government officials.

Your shopping cart is equivalent to a huge mall which has dozens of different e-commerce platforms that one can go through. The online shopping transaction is like that of visiting the mall where multiple vendors are vying for your business. All their products and services are uniform, so you do not have to make any comparison or filtering before buying anything! Bots seem a nuisance, but they could be a huge benefit if used in ways that boost customer loyalty. The automated processes many businesses rely on such as loan approvals, tax filings are intricate and prone to human error.

Consumers who have fallen victim to identity fraud have in the past recorded their payment details using an external app. In doing so they would incorrectly attribute purchase history to the card number of the transaction. It would be harder in case of later detection when trying to sell on the information or claim compensation. Instead, they allow you to use the device remotely, notify customers if they need help, and provide a better match analysis engine.

A wide range of online payment methods has been taking the world by storm and is expected to remain the primary method of payment for a long time. However, there still exist charges for using them. A big hit are credit and debit cards among the banking sector. The privacy precaution, though, is a concern. This is where smart wallets might be of value to you. I wait for my iPhone 7 to ring, then I reach for it instinctively as soon as it does. When I do something as simple as pay at a chemist’s shop, and have to go back inside the shop twice in order to return my change and pick up new items, it is sometimes difficult to keep track of everything. With the Apple Pay service on your phone it gets easier.

Kaspersky Lab is a company that protects online transactions and keeps accounts secure that you surely need.

Kaspersky Security Cloud is an example of how software can adaptively help overcome the challenges people face in keeping their finances safe. The Kaspersky Password manager does have it’s limitations and limitations there are sometimes, but if used with care and in a controlled environment, it certainly has an effective capability to improve our way of life.
