PayPal partners with Skype and it was announced on Thursday. This collaboration lets users in Greece and 21 other countries send money to other people using the app. With over a billion downloads of Skype apps, this feature makes things easier. You can have your relatives surprised and delighted in their hometown or anywhere else they are in the world, which gets to be a lot more fun with so many options available. Skype users can now send money to one another thanks to a new partnership with PayPal. Called “Send Money,” the new feature lets Skype users in 22 countries link their PayPal accounts and send money with a swipe and a tap within the Skype mobile app.
PayPal partners with Skype in a time when P2P payments are becoming increasingly popular for consumers. They’re one of the most-used features among users and also send over $7 million per hour worldwide use. They offer unique ways to spend money with friends, family, or even without these close ones by using Venmo and Xoom. By partnering with Skype, we’re enabling P2P payments with PayPal in more places and in different settings. Meaning, this functions where people connect online and mobile – such as via voice command with Siri, in chat with Slack, and in email through Microsoft Outlook.com.
