The 3xxx series is mainly mid-range phones for the youth market consumer age group. Their style and design appealed more to teens, unlike the 6xxx series that was aiming to business users with its more conservative appearance.
The best-selling models of the 3xxx series include the 3100, 3110, 3230, 3250, 3310, 3600 among others. Many later models had color screens and camera features. Releases on new models continued up until early 2009. Some of the most legendary models, like the 3310 have seen a rework and up until lately returned in circulation in modernized versions.
Fun fact, after the 3000 series followed the 5xxx series as a sign of deference towards the Asian consumer part. Many East Asians are superstitious with the number 4, thinking it will bring bad luck and misfortune, that’s why they avoid it. Even in number buildings or floors they avoid the digit 4 due to the superstition.
