The Regnecentralen RC759 Piccoline features an Intel 80186 processor at 6 or 8 MHz and memory of 156kB. Equipped with a floppy disk of 5.25โ it ran with the operating system of the CP/M 86 version.
Two distinguished computer models were the Piccolo and Piccolino versions. Regnecentralen was the first Danish computer manufacturer, founded in mid 1950s. Sales of their product lines went very well up until 1980s. Not limiting to home users, the computers sold well to enterprises and institutions, especially in the education sector.
More or less, it proved to be strictly for educational institutions. It was, actually, used for computer programming classes using the languages of COMAL 80 and Pascal.
That was just a snapshot on the presentation of the techmuseum series. Indulge more into the history. Continue reading more about the present model, the Regnecentralen RC759 Piccoline here. Alternatively, find more exciting stories like these ones here or here.
