
PiP feature for YouTube on iOS devices is here
For the last year we have known about the wait time for the YouTube iOS app’s PiP feature. It took months to get to a point where it could be ready to be launched. YouTube has provided the picture-in-picture feature for Android devices since 2018. Filtering out a significant portion of the screen or letting you watch videos while also working or interacting with other apps is one of its greatest features.
Google today confirmed that the app now includes a pop-up window which viewers can enter during the course of using any other app on their device. This functionality is especially helpful for those who need to use anything else while they watch a video.
Some of you already have the PiP feature enabled, otherwise it’ll only be a matter of days until it’s officially supported by iOS devices running iOS 15 or later.
