Tyres with 5G connectivity
Pirelli named its new tyres, supporting 5G networks, Cyber Tires. The company has partnered with data management firm Senet to offer an integrated and “personalized” app on a single platform.
Pirelli tyres are not really turning into mobile phones, they just work best in wet and snowy conditions. The tire industry is gaining a lot of traction. This gives rise to interesting possibilities for the future. Businesses will be able to take advantage of new products and developments in the fields of internet infrastructures and vehicle communication. Inside the Pirelli Cyber Tire family, there is a special sensor that communicates to other receivers. This sensor helps, as well, to power up the tyre.
The car’s central processor unit communicates with several sensors. These gather information like a tire’s pressure, road conditions, and other important data to better inform the driver. One of the benefits AI can offer is that it’s able to anticipate and adapt, which allows it to avoid future bottlenecks.
Pirelli is considering ways to partner with car manufacturers. This technology, which was designed to manage traffic and logistics , could also find a variety of applications in trucking fleets. Expensive customized vehicles seem to be right where it all started for the new Pirelli smart tyre technology that’s currently in development. Gradually, more and more people will start using this advanced tech with those less expensive cars too. This will lead to a widespread adoption of such highly innovative technologies.
Most analysts stress that there is no point in using such technologies if the cars themselves lack the appropriate systems, like automated braking systems.
Can you imagine tyres with 5G connectivity? How far can technological innovations reach?
