Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 and 765
Today’s conference in Hawaii was a big day for Qualcomm as they announced their new flagship SoC – the Snapdragon 865! It seems like a pretty safe bet to assume the company would announce it on this day and that’s why many people were expecting it. Qualcomm also announced a newer flagship processor, the Snapdragon 765, that is designed to be more “earth-friendly” and will also support 5G.
These Snapdragons will be at the heart of devices with 5G capabilities that are set to be unveiled in 2020. For now, there is not much information about their specifications, but you can be sure that they will operate in a way similar to past generations.
The 865 is on the horizon and will be a real game changer for SoCs. It features advanced AI engines and 5G connectivity, making it reliable and accessible.
Snapdragon 765/765G will be based on the earlier 730/730G and will be the “standard” next-generation SoCs. The 765G will be the “gaming” chip, with higher GPU timings. In the case of the 730G, the Adreno 618 GPU offered a 15% performance increase over the 730 version. The 765 is the updated version of the 765G, and you can expect similar differences between them.
This could be very useful information. Many exciting announcements made public regarding the technical specifications of these chips and we expect more details soon.
