Innovators at CES 2020

We can expect smarter and more advanced bots in the near future, such as “cat-shaped robots”. Robots that will serve dishes to customers, robot furniture that listens for your voice commands etc. On display this year at the world’s largest international electronics show CES 2020 we saw several innovations. Among the curious and cute exhibits we saw one that turn bathrooms into “smart” bathrooms. It is traditional to hold a show in Las Vegas, which kicks off today. At it, typically every year, major tech companies showcase their New Yearโ€™s innovations.

PuduTech

Robotic units such as the BellaBot, made by a Chinese company called PuduTech, can help save on staffing costs and provide amazing service. With her cartoon cat face and meowing greeting, this waitress offers many benefits in comparison to traditional waitresses. A robot comes with three settings. If the customer touches its ears, it might react with some natural humor mixed with pleasure. If they go too far, though, their interaction will be met with a displeased expression.

The cat-like waitress will help restaurants who might have trouble finding staff. Many restaurants around the world have already ordered the robot and they love it! Analysis firm PP Foresight predicts that automation and AI will be the norm for restaurants in the future. According to estimations, this might lead to greater profits and efficiency for restaurants.

Wheel.me

The Norwegian start-up Wheel.me is introducing robotic furniture legs with wheels that obey voice commands. This new technology can help reduce effort of moving around your furniture in the room by up to 90%.

Charmin

There are many new innovations in the bathroom this year. Charmin’s RollBot is one of them – a robot that can deliver toilet paper so you never run out. If you finds yourself in a toilet with no paper, you can use a picture of the robot on your phone to quickly call him and he’ll bring you a new roll.

Lulu-Lab

A Korean startup, Lulu-Lab, has introduced a “smart” mirror designed to help you become familiar with the things you need to do in order to care for your skin. This mirror takes photos of your face and then analyzes what might need improvement for it to look like its best. It also offers recommendations for the appropriate beauty products and their ingredients to improve the condition of your skin.

Kohler

Kohler is showing off its new Numi 2.0, a toilet that features voice commands with the help of Amazon’s AI assistant Alexa. This means you can customize it to your own tastes. Did you know this already? One can ask for the light to be turned on, for the toilet seat to be turned on and heated by itself, for a flush to be flushed by itself, and change the color of the lighting. According to the experts, the Numi 2.0 will start being sold in 2020 for around $10,000.

The same company has developed a device that attaches to your shower and allows you to listen to music and adjust your water on the fly! It’s one of the best devices out there, at just $230.

Mateo

Mateo is launching a new feature, the “smart” shower mat. This is a great new way to keep track of your weight-loss journey and shows how technologically advanced this company can be! It has an inbuilt scale and will notify you when your weight has increased to a certain limit. The mat also recognises different people’s feet according to each foot’s distinctive thermal footprint. It can, also, detect medical problems such as diabetes!
