Samsung 970 PRO | Unparalleled performance and unbelievable write speeds
Undoubtedly, mass storage devices, used for conventional data storage, are advancing at a rapid rate. Drives with increasing capacity and SSDs with high-speed communication standards are pushing the limits of information that define bidirectional throughput. Samsung has been pursuing an “extreme performance” innovation trend for years. As a result, their newest iteration, is no exception. We recently announced the release of two new consumer-grade SSDs. The all-new 970 PRO and 970 EVO SSDs. The company posted a release:
“The Samsung 970 PRO and EVO models are designed under the M.2 size standard and with the latest PCIe Gen 3×4 line bus. The 970 series maximizes the bandwidth capabilities of NVMe implementations, offering unparalleled performance for processing large volumes of data, including 3D projects, 4K video editing, latest generation video game titles and data analysis.” Samsung’s Blog Post.
As for performance, Samsung claims, “The 970 PRO enables sequential read and write speeds of 3,500 MB/s and 2,700 MB/s respectively, followed by the EVO with 3,500 MB/s and 2,500 MB/s,” in the same measurement categories. Prices for the 970 PRO and the 970 EV are at $329.99 USD and $199.99 USD respectively. On May 7th is when they will be available to purchase in stores.
