The Partnership for Artificial Intelligence | Samsung’s Electronics addition
Samsung is part of an AI safety research and development project, together with 70 other organizations.
Samsung Electronics has joined the Partnership on Artificial Intelligence to Benefit People and Society (PAI) – a group that creates and develops AI products and services that are safe and reliable.
The PAI Partnership has been around since 2016 and is a consortium of people, who conduct research, hold discussions, share information, identify new areas for AI application, and create informative materials to promote understanding. The organization has partnered with more than 70 organizations including some major international organizations and human rights groups.
Recognizing the rapid development of AI technologies, Samsung is participating in the Partnership for Artificial Intelligence “PAI” to shape the direction of AI development with other international member companies. As part of the partnership, Samsung will participate in a working group that looks into the potential collaboration between people and AI. The company also plans to participate in research on issues like safety, transparency, and the social and economic impact of AI.
“Samsung is committed to creating AI products and services that are reliable and safe for humans and beneficial to society,” said Seunghwan Cho, executive vice president at Samsung Research. “As a member of the ‘PAI’ partnership, Samsung will strive to facilitate the continued advancement of AI and develop best practices for AI technologies.”
