The newest smartphone from Samsung is selling incredibly well. Samsung’s Galaxy S9 Plus was the best-selling model for April according to the report from Pulse Market Counterpoint Research. Samsung’s Android flagship was up 2.6% in sales over the 30-day period, with their smaller counterpart the Galaxy S9, coming in second place overall.
Apple’s iOS devices took the next three places. Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Redmi 5 Plus (Note Plus) and Samsung Galaxy S8 were in the top ten, along with Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 7.
Although they are the largest smartphone company in the world and produce a wide range of reliable, high-quality products, Samsung still can’t rival Apple’s iPhone sales. Samsung’s ultra-premium phones have traditionally been losing out, although the Galaxy S8 series defies this historical trend as Samsung has chosen to send the series on several aggressive promotions, particularly in India, where it is currently battling Xiaomi for the top spot in the world’s fastest growing smartphone market.
It’s been reported that all the top ten smartphones released in April either have flagships or entry level models. There are no mid-range devices on the list.
