Samsung redesigned Galaxy Fold
A new design for the Galaxy Fold has been implemented following durability problems present with users. The screen could fall or be hit and break, which is why the redesign provided added protective layers. With the cost of the screens being so high, it is usually not worth repairing in such an expensive phone.
However, with the device being released soon and a lot of questions raised about what’s to come regarding this new foldable mobile phone, there has been some speculation over its intended use strategically.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold has been announced to the public in marketing material, but still lacks a firm release date. The Galaxy Note 10 is apparently releasing soon. It’s likely that the Fold will not be released at the same time. The company wants to make sure they’re able to deliver a safe and reliable product into the market but doesn’t want to compromise on customer experience. If they had a glitchy phone, then it would cause them not only some money loss but also damage their reputation greatly, resulting in its competitors benefiting.
It is also important to note that several companies have started to release their foldable phones on the market without much succes. This technology is still new, so they need to work on further improving it until it is reliable. In the future, it will indeed be something more remarkable.
The price for foldable phones is certainly high and favors a lifestyle that is more upscale than the average consumer. It feels like the Samsung Galaxy Fold and other competing phones are just forgettable and don’t appeal to consumers.
