The largest mobile manufacturing plant of Samsung in India
In Noida, North India, Samsung has inaugurated a new mobile phone manufacturing facility. Samsung India will recycle 120 million units of mobile phones annually.
The new plant is located on 35 acres or 141,640 square feet. Based on the increased production capacity, Samsung may also consider exporting devices from its new plant to other South Asian countries. Besides Noida, Samsung has a manufacturing facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, in South India, five research and development centres and a design centre also located in Noida. 10% of Samsung’s total global production is produced in India, and the company wants to push to 50% in the next three years. Once it starts operating fully, the plant will help the company meet local demand by more than doubling its mobile phone production capacity to 12 million units every month from 5 million today.
Generally, Samsung is very well established in both the northern and southern India. Research and production wants to be gradually moved there over the years, of course to reduce production costs.
