Samsung’s innovation | New mobile device announced
Samsung is introducing the first image sensor for 200MP mobile devices with 0.64μm pixels, the ISOCELL HP1. At the same time, the company announced the ISOCELL GN5 which is a 50MP sensor and the first with Dual Pixel Pro focus technology in all directions with two photodiodes in a 1.0μm pixel.
The characteristics of ISOCELL HP1:
- The first mobile image sensor that supports 200MP.
- Pixels with a size of 0.64μm, which carry an extremely high resolution in a small package that suits smartphones.
- It features all-new ChameleonCell technology, using a two-to-two- to four-to-four layout, or a full-pixel layout depending on the environment.
- Even in a low-light environment, it is capable of greater light absorption and sensitivity. It produces brighter and cleaner photos in the interior or evening light.
- In a bright outdoor environment, it can record photos ultra-high definition.
- It supports 8K video at 30 frames per second with minimal loss of sight.
- Merges four adjacent pixels to reduce the resolution to 50MP to capture 8K video, without using cropping or reducing the full image resolution.
The characteristics of ISOCELL GN5:
- First 1.0μm image sensor incorporating dual pixel pro, autofocus technology in all directions that can greatly enhance autofocus capabilities.
- Aditionally, Dual Pixel Pro technology places two photodiodes on each 1.0μm pixel of the sensor, either horizontally or vertically, to recognize pattern changes in all directions.
- Because of one million phase detection photodiodes, covering all areas of the sensor, its automatic focus is instantaneous, thus allowing for images of greater clarity in either bright or low-light environments.
- The image sensor uses technology pixel of the company. It applies Front Deep Trench Isolation (FDTI) to a Dual Pixel product, for the first time in the industry.
The SENSORs ISOCELL HP1 and ISOCELL GN5, have already begun to be sent to manufacturers.
Therefore, it is not excluded that we will see early next year a Smartphone with these sensors.
