The Galaxy S20 features 8K video recording, which might seem like a useless feature because most people don’t have screens that are capable of displaying 8K. Samsung estimates that one minute of 8K video takes up 600MB while five minutes of recording will take up 3GB of storage. The storage on the Galaxy S20 starts at 128GB and goes up to 512GB in the maximum model and it supports microSD cards up to 1TB. This brings the total possible space up to an astounding 1.5TB.
It’s worth mentioning that on the Galaxy S10+, a 4K video has a relatively small file size of 350MB. 8K video has 4 times the number of pixels as 4K, yet you can watch a video and just need 600MB of data per minute.
This high quality video has some restrictions that need to be considered. For instance, it only lasts for 5 minutes and can only record at 24 frames per second. There is no option to increase the framerate either.
