Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 850 chip is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 835 in laptops and it could be a great option if you’re thinking about upgrading your computer.
Qualcomm’s promising 30% better performance with the Snapdragon 850 than the 835 on a computer running Windows 10. The ASUS NovaGo and HP Envy x2 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor did not impress us. But the Snapdragon 850 may turn things around.
We don’t think this is the case. The Lenovo 81JL device with a Snapdragon 850 processor appeared on Geekbench and was compared to the ASUS NovaGo TP370QL. This has been said to have a Snapdragon 835. Lenovo recorded an average single-core score of 2263 and a multi-core score of 6947. ASUS managed 1802 points and 6475 points respectively.
Qualcomm’s announcement of a 30% improvement in performance for its Snapdragon 850 is real just not as significant as the company would like you to believe. In this particular test, however, we have seen an improvement of only 23% in the single-core and 7.3% in the multi-core test. Qualcomm promises excellent performance with the Snapdragon 855, but it is not valid for now. There’s no way right now to know if all the promises of Qualcomm are eventually going to be fulfilled.
