Spotify scandal
Spotify is facing another fiasco following the mass exits of artists from the platform. The artists reportedly didn’t agree with the content hosted on the platform.
The $100 million the popular streaming platform spent to bring commentator-comedian Rogan into its fold hasn’t worked out well for it after his podcasts caused a rift among listeners and other artists on the platform.
Joe Rogan among others, talked about the situation in America’s COVID hospitals. The deaths reportedly are not true but are a fake number so as to scare people. In addition, he urged healthy young people not to go ahead with the COVID-19 vaccination as this would be harmful to their health.
In light of all this, Spotify has apologized and announced the revised platform rules. The “Platform Rules” section will be updated regularly. It also pledged that every COVID-related podcast will feature a content advisor who will redirect listeners to a hub with authoritative and up-to-date information about covid disease.
Community received the news of the Spotify scandal with caution. Very soon, we may see the change in the flactuation of stock values as well.
