Steam has reached 1 billion users
Steam has now reached 1 billion users and is no doubt an achievement considering our planet is home to around 7.7 billion people. It’s a global platform that allows for easy access to games for all of its users which is what makes it really popular.
With 275,000,000 active accounts across the world, it seems like a lot of people have access to video game systems. Of that number, approximately 236,000,000 are gamers and spend their time playing games. However 1 in 8 of the planet is actually on Steam!. And we say “lucky”, since he’s not going to win anything beyond a simple mention of his name.
Finally, for those who are interested in the numbers, we can say that Xbox users reach 64 million while PSN users reach 90 million. On the other hand, Steam’s main rival now, the Epic Store, has around 85 million users. So, as it turns out, Valve’s platform is and will remain the leader for some time to come.
