Acoustic augmented reality with smart glasses
Imagine being able to listen to your favorite music, make phone calls, and enjoy augmented reality without taking off your sunglasses. Frames is a smart pair of glasses that offer a sound experience similar to that of classic music headphones. In addition, the innovation can provide content based on augmented reality sound.
“They look and work like classic sunglasses – until you put them on,” explains Mehul Trivedi, director of Bose Frames. “And then, you connect to your phone, your contacts, the Internet, and all its audio content, just like with music headphones.” The u.s company Bose, a music reproduction legend, is behind tis idea.
Bose’s devise isn’t going to project on-screen information like Google Glass or some mobile apps like Pokemon GO. The American company said it will launch the first experiences of what they call acoustic augmented reality a few months after their Frames release and new content will be released in March 2019, at the next SXSW.
