On this TECHDAY in history, on November 3rd 2017, Apple released its eleventh generation of the iPhone, iPhone X. It was named thusly in commemoration of iPhone’s 10th anniversary (X is the Roman numeral for ten). This phone received generally positive reviews. It featured some innovations, such as an OLED screen and a new way of security authentication, the Face ID, which scanned the owner’s face in order to unlock the phone.
the iPhone X was the first iPhone to feature wireless charging and introduced a new “Super Retina” display with a resolution of 1125 x 2436 pixels. The device powered by the A11 Bionic chip, which featured a six-core CPU and a three-core GPU. It also featured a 12-megapixel dual-lens rear camera and a 7-megapixel front-facing camera. The iPhone X was available in two storage options, 64 GB and 256 GB. It was released on this techday, with a starting price of $999.
