New smart fridges

Artificial Intelligence applications that are installed on refrigerators have come to the forefront of technology. In fact, they will probably dominate the market in next few years.ย  The Samsung and LG will present their own versions of their latest technology at the CES 2020 tech show. Samsung will release the new model in their Family Hub series. LG already released the second-generation InstaView ThinQ refrigerator with cameras and algorithms to recognize food, informing the owner when they need more or don’t have enough.

Samsung has been making improvements to family hub technology and it’s been getting really popular with consumers. From when they showed it at CES to now, it’s come a long way. Samsung acquired startup Whisk last year, which is a personal assistant app that helps you prepare healthy meals. The app also features a built-in grocery list and automatically adds personalized plans based on monthly menu preferences.

The touchscreen now supports video playback, while also acting as the working surface for Samsung TVs and mobile phones.

LG is introducing two versions of the InstaView, both with a 22-inch screen that even becomes transparent to see what’s behind the door.

The InstaView ThinQ with the AI apps and the InstaView with Craft Ice, which makes ice cubes that melt later than traditional ice cubes.

We are of course talking about smart fridges from LG and Samsung, which will likely be priced around 4,000-5,500 euros.
