The Exynos 9810 processor

Samsung’s new Exynos 9810 chipset is entering mass production and it has a lot of cool features. This chipset will give you a third-generation CPU, a 1.2 Gbps LTE modem. Also it has upgrades that allow for 4K video recording at up to 120fps.

The Exynos CPU is going to have eight cores split into two clusters. They will split their focus between processing power and efficiency with 4 high-performance cores that are clocked at 2.90GHz and 4 more energy efficient, upgraded cores that are also clocked at 2.90GHz. Samsung is also making use of neural networks to improve deep learning algorithms so devices will be better at recognizing faces and other objects. It’s technology will enable 3D scanning, which is a new development.

4K video recording at 120fps is becoming more common on phones, and 2018 will see this technology making its way to the Galaxy S9. Samsung has yet to confirm if it’s coming with the upcoming phone. The Category 18 LTE modem will offer transmission speeds of 1.2Gbps, 4ร—4 MIMO and 256-QAM, the fastest in the industry. Finally there will be a separate processing unit that will essentially be a security device and will store biometric information of face, iris, and fingerprint.
