
All of us who use computers owe it to the first IBM PC, a model of the industry for over 40 years. The brief personal computer history will follow below. On August 12th, 1981, they presented the personal computer.
Even though it wasn’t the first IBM PC released, it was the model of computers we know to this day, including open architecture and third party peripherals. This means that adding, swapping equiment is very easy. It included an Intel architecture processor, and Microsoft software.
As a result, a presentation by the laboratory director of IBM’s ELS unit, Boca Raton, followed before IBM’s Board of Directors. In July 1980, there was a new addition on the board, Frank Cary, as chairman of the Board of Directors.
A small team at Boca Raton, Florida, managed to convince and implement the project on the IBM pc within a short time. Accordingly, they presented a prototype to the company’s Board of Directors.
At its time, the only competitor to face was Apple’s Macintosh throughout the 1980s. Most of the modern personal computers descend from the legendary IBM PC.
