Huawei Global Vision Report is a series of articles and real-world use cases on how smart technologies are impacting our lives. Based on their analysis, they have come up with ten dominant trends that will affect the way we live. The GIV report from Huawei mentions 5G networks, AI development, the rise of robot home assistant and smart personal assistants.
The key predictions of the GIV Report for 2025 are as follows:
Robots will be commonplace in society, from the workplace to the home. They are part of a wave of technological advancement and progress that has been taking place for decades. The GIV report predicts 14% of homes will own a home robot.
5G, in combination with emerging technologies such as AR/VR, will provide to people many benefits. Machine learning and computer vision will give us new ways of seeing for people, cultures and society. The report predicts that the percentage of companies using AR/VR will increase by 10%.
As sensor-equipped devices find out what we need, we’ll find information without actively looking for it. Future surveys won’t need buttons. Companies will create social media platforms with ease, and industries will benefit from zero work maintenance. According to the GIV report, it is estimated that most smart device owners will use a personal assistant of some form.
Smart transportation systems will connect people, vehicles, and infrastructures. This should lead to zero traffic and more efficient responses in the case of emergencies. The GIV report predicts that out of 100 vehicles, 15 will have cellular technology for all their functions.
Automation is becoming more intelligent and will be able to do tasks that humans wouldn’t want to do. It will make for a safer, more productive workplace. The GIV report predicts that there will be 103 robots per 10,000 workers in industries.
Cloud AI
Cloud AI will reduce the costs and barriers, which prevent people from doing more in the scientific community. They’ll be able to conduct more experiments or develop more innovations. They would also explore a wider range of art pieces because of these benefits. This new way of working will make it easier for more people to pursue creative ideas and be rewarded by them. 97% of large companies will have leveraged AI.
AI and big data analytics will improve business communications and eliminate language barriers. Accuracy, understanding, and trust will underpin tomorrow’s communication. Companies will take advantage of 86% of the data they generate in the near future according to the report.
Businesses across the world are using digital technologies and smart apps on unified access platforms. This means a better collaboration, resource sharing, stronger global ecosystems, and higher productivity. According to predictions in the GIV report, every company, everywhere, will be using cloud technology and 85% of business applications will be based on it.
5G is here and at the same time it’s quickly becoming an integral part of life for individuals, businesses, and societies. We’re only just starting to figure out what 5G is capable of which means there are limitless possibilities for the future. GIV predicts that 58% of the world’s population will have access to 5G within a few years.
Future Predictions
As more digital advancements are made, more standards and principles need to be in place when it comes to data use. The GIV report predicts that over the next year, the total volume of data will reach 180 ZB.

The GIV 2025 report is meant to analyze the dominant trends in the industry and provide a guide for the development of ICT. The publication of the first report in 2018.
