Today, February 9th, is World Safer Internet Day. It has been established to be celebrated on the second day of the second week of the second month every year. We owe this day to Viviane Reding, a European Commissioner.
Internet safety is a major issue nowadays. This day gives us the opportunity to reflect on the responsibilities everyone has for a safer and better Internet experience. On this day, young and old alike recieve information. Decision-makers are encouraged to take action to this end.
In our country, National Representative of the Insafe Network Saferinternet.gr conducts the Safer Internet Browsing Day, which belongs to the Hellenic Internet Safety Centre.
Responsible on a pan-European basis for the organization of this World Safer Internet day is the Pan-European Network of National Information Centres Insafe and specifically the European Commission’s Safer Internet.
