Twitter limiting replies to tweets
Twitter will now be testing a new feature that allows you to set who can reply to your tweets. By doing so, they hope to reduce the level of harassment that takes place on their platform. Twitter is a social media platform which is public, but still allows you to control who can watch the conversation you are having. With the addition of more features in the future, Twitter will be able to fine-tune these controls even further so that only users who you follow or mention will be able to reply to your tweets. You are allowed to make a statement without the need to add a comment.
The new feature will come in 2020. While it will certainly limit toxic or hurtful comments, people are questioning how brands and officials can ever have criticising citizens and customers without the negative responses from them being available.
